TEMPLE, Texas — The Bonham Middle School Bulldog 7th Grade A football team closed out their season in dominant fashion on Monday evening, shutting out Lamar Middle School 28-0 at Herman Anderson Field at Bonham Middle School. With the impressive victory, the Bulldogs secured the title of Temple City Champs, finishing their campaign on a two-game winning streak with an outstanding 5-2 record.

Offensive Fireworks

Bonham’s offense was firing on all cylinders, orchestrated by Offensive Player of the Game, quarterback Connor Brank. Brank controlled the tempo of the game, completing multiple passes—including a touchdown strike—while picking up critical first downs with his legs and breaking into the end zone for a rushing touchdown.

The running attack proved equally devastating for the Bearcat defense. Running backs Miael Teague and Jakayden Riley-Jones both broke loose for long touchdown runs that put the game well out of reach.

Through the air, wide receiver Justin Stonum delivered a game-changing performance with 2 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. Receivers Ben Barbosa and Dominic Valdez also hauled in key receptions to extend drives.
The Bulldogs capitalized on conversion opportunities as well: wide receiver D'ante Hardister caught an extra-point conversion pass, while quarterback Caleb Matamoros charged ahead for a rushing conversion.

Defensive Shutout

Defensively, the Bulldogs were relentless from the opening kickoff to the final whistle, refusing to allow Lamar any rhythm.

Solid team defense and major contributions came from across the unit, including performance highlights from:

Jakayden Riley-Jones (broke up 2 passes)
Silas Moten (forced a key fumble)
Michael Ruiz (recovered the forced fumble)
Justin Stonum
Caleb Matamoros
Jaxsen Paine

The commanding 28-0 victory caps off a memorable season for the 7th grade squad, who leave Herman Anderson Field as Temple City Champions with momentum on their side.
