TEMPLE, Texas — In a towering display of offensive fireworks and smothering defense, the Bonham Middle School Bulldog 7th Grade A football team charged to a decisive 31-0 shutout victory over the visiting Lake Belton Middle School Tigers on Monday evening at Herman Anderson Field.

With the victory, Bonham improves their record to 4-2 on the season as they continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the year.

Offensive Masterclass

The Bulldogs' offense was firing on all cylinders, orchestrating big plays through both the air and on the ground.

Wide receiver Justin Stonum earned Offensive Player of the Game honors following an explosive evening. Stonum proved to be a matchup nightmare, hauling in 3 receptions for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding another 20 yards on the ground.
Commanding the offense was quarterback Connor Brank, who delivered a sharp performance under center. Brank racked up 150 passing yards and tossed 2 touchdown passes.

The ground attack proved equally lethal, anchored by a powerful backfield tandem:

Miael Teague spearheaded the rushing attack, gaining 93 yards on the ground and punching in 1 touchdown.
Jakayden Riley-Jones contributed 53 rushing yards and added a rushing touchdown of his own.

The passing game saw wide receivers Jaxsen Paine, Ben Barbosa, and Michael Ruiz each come up big with clutch first-down receptions to keep drives alive. Ruiz also hauled in a successful extra-point catch.

Special teams were flawless on the night, as kicker Ben Barbosa was perfect, going 3-for-3 on extra-point field goal kicks.

Defensive Stranglehold

Defensively, the Bulldogs systematically dismantled Lake Belton’s offensive game plan, keeping the Tigers completely off the scoreboard.

Nose Guard Joel Ramirez was named Defensive Player of the Game for his unrelenting force in the trenches. Ramirez's disruptive pressure destroyed the center-quarterback exchange, forcing multiple bad snaps throughout the night and keeping Lake Belton constantly behind the chains.

Setting the physical tone across the field, linebacker Justin Stonum along with safeties Jakayden Riley-Jones and Miael Teague each racked up multiple tackles to anchor the lockdown defensive effort.

Season Finale Ahead

The Bulldogs (4-2) will look to cap off their impressive campaign on a high note when they host the Lamar Middle School Bearcats on Monday, October 26th, at Herman Anderson Field. Kickoff for the season finale is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
