TEMPLE, Texas — The Bonham Middle School 7th Grade B Bulldog football team capped off a flawless campaign Monday evening at Herman Anderson Field, delivering a dominant 33-0 shutout victory over cross-town rival Lamar Middle School. With the win in their final game of the year, the Bulldogs secured a perfect 6-0 record, capturing both the district championship and the coveted Temple City Championship.

From the opening kickoff, Bonham displayed complete control on both sides of the ball, driven by an explosive offensive showing and a relentless, opportunistic defense.

Corley Leads the Charge as Player of the Game

Multifaceted standout Asher Corley delivered an electric, all-around performance to earn Player of the Game honors. Operating as a wide receiver, quarterback, safety, and kicker, Corley seemingly did it all for the Bulldogs. Offensively, he hauled in two crucial receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown, threw a touchdown pass, and added a successful pass completion for an extra-point conversion. Corley was equally lethal on defense, intercepting a Lamar pass and taking it all the way back to the end zone for a defensive touchdown.

Balanced Offense Keeps Lamar Guarded

Quarterback Bennett Reed spearheaded the backfield orchestration, making key plays with both his arm and his legs. Reed rushed for a touchdown and connected through the air for another score. Running back Cayne Lee added to the ground assault with a touchdown run, while running back Andre Hooks punched in a successful extra-point conversion run.

The Bulldogs’ aerial attack proved too potent for Lamar to contain. Wide receiver Nolan Westbrook pulled down a touchdown catch, while receivers Canden Bolton and Joshua Hernandez each hauled in pass receptions for extra-point conversions to pad the Bulldogs' lead.

Defense Seals the Shutout and Title

While the offense lit up the scoreboard, the Bonham defense put on a tackling clinic to preserve the clean sheet. Bennett Reed, Nolan Westbrook, Mason Flores, Kainoa Baza Meno, and Cole Ziehr consistently disrupted Lamar's playmaking, swarm-tackling ball carriers and denying any chance of a late-game comeback.

The dominant Monday night victory brings a memorable end to a magical fall for Bonham Middle School. By finishing 6-0, the 7th Grade B Bulldogs walk off Herman Anderson Field as undefeated district champions and the undisputed top team in Temple.
