TEMPLE, Texas — In a defensive slugfest on Tuesday night at Broncho Field, the Bonham Middle School Bulldog 8th Grade A football team gritted out an 8-6 victory over Lake Belton. With the hard-fought win, Bonham improves to 5-2 on the season.
Offensive honors went to quarterback Parker Huffman, who served as the catalyst for the Bulldogs' attack all evening.

Huffman showcased his dual-threat capability by repeatedly moving the chains with key scrambles using his feet, while also delivering the game's biggest play through the air—a strike to wide receiver Audreas Lane for a 30-yard touchdown.

Special teams proved to be a critical difference-maker in the tight contest, as kicker Rony Ixcopal split the uprights for the extra-point field goal, providing what ultimately became the decisive margin of victory.

Up front, the offense received a major boost from lineman Abram Bautista. Stepping up from the B team to start at center for the A squad, Bautista helped anchor the offensive line and maintain control of the trenches.

Defensively, end Kaden Prempeh put on a dominant display to earn Defensive Player of the Game honors. Prempeh anchored the front seven, racking up an overwhelming tally of tackles behind and at the line of scrimmage while also securing a crucial fumble recovery to stall a Lake Belton drive.

The Bulldogs will look to cap off their successful campaign on a high note when they return to action on Tuesday, October 27. Bonham will travel across town to face cross-town rival Lamar Middle School in their season finale. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. at Brad Dusek Field on the Lamar campus.
