TEMPLE, Texas — In a tight, defensive battle on Tuesday evening, the Bonham Bulldog 8th Grade B football team dropped a narrow 6-0 decision to the visiting SC Lee Junior High Bullpups at Herman Anderson Field on the campus of Bonham Middle School. Despite a strong offensive effort and a dominant performance on the defensive line, the Bulldogs were unable to break through the SC Lee defense in a hard-fought contest on their home field.

Offensive Highlights

Bonham’s offense moved the ball effectively throughout the night, led by Co-Offensive Players of the Game quarterback Alejandro Rodriguez and running back Malik Lawrence.

Alejandro Rodriguez (QB): Orchestrated the offense while recording 30 yards rushing and 45 yards passing.
Malik Lawrence (RB): Provided a steady ground attack, racking up 80 yards rushing along with 1 catch for 5 yards.

Halen Cree (WR): Served as a key target in the passing game, hauling in 5 receptions for 35 yards.

Defensive Standout

On the defensive side of the ball, defensive end Alexzander Milne put on a clinic up front. Named the Defensive Player of the Game, Milne proved to be a constant disruption in the SC Lee backfield, tallying 3 total tackles and an impressive 4 tackles for loss to keep the Bullpups within reach all evening.

With the loss, the Bonham 8th Grade B team moves to 1-1 on the season. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on September 29 when they return to action at home to host River Valley Middle School, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 PM at Herman Anderson Field.
