The Bonham Bulldog 8th Grade "A" team put on an absolute clinic on their home turf, rolling to a decisive 40-7 victory over the visiting Belton Middle School Tigers at Herman Anderson Field on the campus of Bonham Middle School. With explosive plays across all three phases of the game, Bonham controlled the tempo from start to finish to remain undefeated.

Huffman Leads High-Powered Offensive Assault

Quarterback Parker Huffman earned Offensive Player of the Game honors after orchestrating a relentless attack. Huffman was virtually unstoppable, accounting for four total touchdowns and two extra-point conversion passes. He shredded the Tigers' defense through the air and on the ground, finishing with 190 passing yards (2 TDs) and 53 rushing yards (2 TDs).

Huffman had plenty of support from a dynamic core of playmakers:

Tre Shamlin: The versatile running back racked up 57 rushing yards, 45 receiving yards, and pulled in an extra-point catch. He also set the tone with an electrifying 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Audreas Lane: A constant threat out wide, Lane caught 2 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. He also proved his versatility by scoring on an extra-point run, catching an extra-point pass, and tossing an extra-point pass of his own.

Bryce Robinson: Robinson made his reception count in a big way, hauling in a 48-yard touchdown catch while adding a conversion catch to the scoreboard.

Kaden Prempeh: Prempeh contributed key yardage in the passing game, recording a 12-yard reception to keep a drive moving.

Shamlin and Defense Suffocate the Tigers

On the other side of the ball, the Bulldogs' defense was relentless, shutting down Belton's offensive rhythm and forcing multiple takeaways.

Tre Shamlin pulled double duty to secure Defensive Player of the Game honors. Operating from his linebacker position, Shamlin recorded 6 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and recovered 2 fumbles—including a stunning 70-yard scoop-and-score touchdown return.

Defensive end Kaden Prempeh setting the edge was equally disruptive, racking up 5 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and forcing a fumble. Meanwhile, linebacker Kevin Brown lived in the Belton backfield, finishing the night with 5 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and a sack.

Looking Ahead

With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 1-1 on the season. Bonham will look to keep their momentum rolling when they return to action on September 22. They will once again host at Herman Anderson Field on the Bonham Middle School campus, taking on SC Lee Junior High beginning at 6:15 PM.
