CAMERON — The Bonham Middle School 8th grade girls cross country team was represented by a lone competitor on Wednesday evening, as Teagan Vestal took to the 2-mile course at Cameron Middle School for the Yoe Harriers Cross Country Meet.
Running as the single entry for Bonham, Vestal showcased remarkable grit and independence against a crowded field of competitors. Because she was the sole athlete representing the school, Bonham did not field enough runners to qualify for the official team standings.
Vestal paced the course with impressive determination, tackling the distance without teammates alongside her. She crossed the finish line in 56th place overall, posting a hard-fought time of 17:45.25. While no Bonham runners reached the Top 20 mark in this tough competition, Vestal's solo effort earned high praise for her individual focus and discipline.
