COPPERAS COVE, TX — Under the rolling terrain and challenging greens of the Hills of Cove Golf Course, a new star emerged in the Central Texas middle school golf scene this week. Savannah Bristow, representing the Temple Middle School golf program, delivered a masterclass in consistency to capture 1st Place in the 7th Grade Division at the District Championships.
Consistency is Key
The Bonham Middle School student didn't just win; she set the pace from the opening tee. Bristow fired a solid 40 in her opening round, positioning herself at the top of the leaderboard. While many young athletes might feel the pressure of a lead heading into the final stretch, Bristow leaned into the challenge.
She returned for the second round even sharper, shaving two strokes off her previous performance to card a stellar 38.
A Bright Future for Temple Golf
Representing the combined Temple Middle School program, Bristow’s victory brings pride to the Bonham Middle School community and signals a bright future for the high school ranks in the coming years.
Competing at the Hills of Cove Golf Course is no small feat—the course is known for its elevation changes and demanding approach shots—but Bristow navigated the hazards with the composure of a veteran.
As the trophies were handed out, one thing was certain: Savannah Bristow has officially put the district on notice. With a sub-80 total and a championship medal in hand, the 7th-grade sensation is just getting started.
