The Bonham Middle School Bulldog 8th Grade Track & Field team put on a gritty performance this past Wednesday, March 4, at the Academy Bumblebee Relays.
Competing under the lights at John Glover Stadium, the Bulldogs battled through a crowded field of 13 teams to secure a 3rd place finish in the overall team standings.
Bonham tallied a solid 70 points on the day. While Lampasas took the top spot with 141 points and North Belton followed in second with 106, the Bulldogs proved they belong among the elite programs in the region.
Top Performers
The Bulldogs’ success was fueled by two standout athletes who cracked the Top 10 in individual scoring for the entire meet:
Daniel Jones: 22 points
Max Westbrook: 18 points
Jones was nearly untouchable in the sprints and jumps, taking home gold in both the 100 meters and the High Jump. Meanwhile, Westbrook showed incredible consistency over the barriers, earning silver medals in both hurdle events.

Individual Sprints & Distance
Daniel Jones scorched the track in the 100 meters, claiming 1st Place with a blazing time of 11.67.
Benjamin Hall showed his speed in the 200 meters, earning 5th Place at 25.04.
Levonte Henderson pushed through a tough field in the 800 meters to take 8th Place with a time of 2:29.37.
Hurdles
Max Westbrook was a force on the track, securing 2nd Place in the 110 hurdles (16.65) and another 2nd Place finish in the 300 hurdles (46.15).
Relay Events
The 4x100 Relay team, consisting of Ayedon Robinson, Daniel Jones, Jevniell Rosa-Rivera, and Max Westbrook, took 4th Place with a time of 47.79.
The 4x400 Relay squad, featuring Ayedon Robinson, Benjamin Hall, Daniel Jones, and Kyrie Green, also locked in 4th Place after clocking in at 4:03.77.
Field Events
Daniel Jones cleared the bar at 5'4" to take 1st Place in the High Jump.
Benjamin Hall dominated the Triple Jump pit, securing 1st Place with a leap of 28'5 ¼".
Jevniell Rosa-Rivera had a busy day in the rings, taking 2nd Place in Discus with a toss of 116'0" and 8th Place in Shot Put with a mark of 36'6 ¾".
"It was a total team effort at John Glover Stadium. With two athletes in the top ten scorers and a third-place overall finish, the Bulldogs are peaking at the right time."
The Bulldogs will look to carry this momentum into their next competition. The team is scheduled to compete in the Divisional Meet on April 1st at Lake Belton High School.
