WACO — The Bonham Middle School 8th Grade Girls Cross Country team closed out their season on Wednesday evening, competing against top talent across the region at the Central Texas District Cross Country Championships held at the HOT Soccer Complex in Waco.

Bonham Lady Bulldog Performances

While Bonham did not field enough runners to secure a place in the team standings, all four Lady Bulldogs delivered strong, competitive performances in the 2-mile race to cap off their year.

Tegan Vestal led the charge for Bonham, crossing the finish line in 15:18.52 to capture 26th place overall—missing a Top 20 finish by just six spots. Aryel Chaney was the next Lady Bulldog to finish, taking 48th place with a time of 16:49.29. Rounding out the lineup, Kylen Russell and Nevaeh Hardister pushed each other right to the line, finishing back-to-back in 62nd (18:04.54) and 63rd place (18:05.22), respectively.

Because Bonham had four competitors (five are required to score in team standings), the team did not qualify for an overall team score, but their individual grit highlighted a competitive end to the cross country season.

Note: Bonham did not have any runners place in the Top 20 at this meet.
