HEWITT, Texas — The Bonham Middle School Bulldog 7th Grade B football team delivered a masterclass performance on Tuesday, shutting out the Midway Middle School Panthers 25-0 in Hewitt. With the decisive victory, the Bulldogs remain perfect on the year, improving their record to an impressive 4-0 on the season.

Offensive Highlights & Player of the Game

Leading the charge for Bonham was player of the game Bennett Reed. Starring at both quarterback and defensive end, Reed made explosive plays on both sides of the ball. He kickstarted the Bulldogs' scoring night with an electrifying long rushing touchdown, setting the tone early. Reed wasn't done making highlights—on special teams, he blocked a Midway punt and recovered it for a touchdown, while also piling up multiple tackles on defense.

Bonham's rushing attack was unstoppable throughout the contest. Running backs CJ Rector and Andre Hooks each punched in touchdowns on the ground to keep the Panthers on their heels. Hooks also contributed to the scoreboard by fighting his way into the endzone for an extra-point conversion run.

When the Bulldogs needed a spark through the air, Reed connected with tight end LJ Hegna for a clutch long pass, converting a high-pressure 4th-and-long situation and keeping a key drive alive.

Stout Defensive Performance

Defensively, the Bulldogs were relentless, refusing to give up an inch. Linebackers Greyson Anderson and Kainoa Baza anchored the defense with multiple tackles throughout the evening. Anderson delivered a game-altering moment by forcing a crucial Panther fumble to swing momentum back to Bonham. In the secondary, safety Asher Corley locked down the passing lane, breaking up multiple passes while making key tackles to preserve the shutout.

Looking Ahead

The undefeated Bulldogs will look to keep their winning streak alive when they return to action on October 19. Bonham will host Lake Belton Middle School at Herman Anderson Field, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
