BELTON — Powered by an explosive ground attack and an opportunistic defense, the Bonham Middle School Bulldog 7th Grade A football team secured an impressive 20-6 victory over North Belton on Monday evening at Broncho Field at Lake Belton High School. With the win, the Bulldogs improve their season record to a strong 3-1.
Teague Drives the Offense

Running back Miael Teague put on a clinic for the Bulldogs, earning Offensive Player of the Game honors with a monster performance in the backfield. Teague carved up the North Belton defense for over 150 rushing yards and all three of Bonham's touchdowns, keeping the drive alive time and again with his hard-nosed running.

Special teams also played a pivotal role in maintaining momentum. Kicker Ben Barbosa was exceptional, converting an extra point field goal while successfully executing two key onside kicks that kept the ball in the hands of the Bulldog offense.

Defense Locks Down North Belton

Bonham’s defense delivered a lights-out performance, forcing multiple takeaways to blunt North Belton's offensive efforts.

Defensive Tackle Travell Harvey and Safety Jakayden Riley-Jones set the tone as Co-Defensive Players of the Game. Harvey anchored the front line, forcing two fumbles and racking up multiple tackles in the backfield. Back in the secondary, Riley-Jones seemed to be everywhere at once, accumulating multiple tackles, recovering a fumble, and picking off a pass. Cornerback Ben Barbosa capped off his multi-phase impact night by coming up with a clutch interception in the end zone to extinguish a North Belton scoring threat.

It was a true group effort on the defensive side of the ball, with crucial contributions throughout the game from Justin Stonum, Miael Teague, Caleb Matamoros, Jaxsen Paine, Zaylon Coulter, Michael Ruiz, Joel Ramirez, and Silas Moten.
