TEMPLE, TX — It was a high-scoring affair at Herman Anderson Field on Thursday evening, but despite a heroic individual performance, the Bonham Middle School 8th Grade Lady Bulldogs dropped a tough contest to the SC Lee Junior High Cougars, falling 7-3.

The atmosphere on the Bonham campus was electric as the Lady Bulldogs looked to defend their home turf. However, the Cougars' offense proved difficult to contain, find the back of the net early and often to maintain a comfortable lead throughout the match.

Taft Shines in the Scoring Column

The bright spot for the Lady Bulldogs was undoubtedly the offensive masterclass put on by Kennedy Taft. Displaying impressive footwork and clinical finishing, Taft accounted for all of Bonham’s scoring on the night.

Her hat trick kept the Lady Bulldogs within striking distance for much of the game, providing a spark every time the Cougars threatened to run away with the momentum. While the final score didn't favor the home team, Taft's three-goal performance served as a testament to the grit and skill present in the 8th-grade squad.

Looking Ahead: A Road Trip to Copperas Cove

The Lady Bulldogs won't have much time to dwell on the loss as they prepare for a quick turnaround. The team will look to get back into the win column next week with a trip to Copperas Cove.

Match Details:

Opponent: Copperas Cove Junior High Lady Bullpups
Date: Thursday, April 23
Time: 6:15 PM
Location: Bulldawg Stadium, Copperas Cove

Bonham will aim to tighten up their defensive rotations and carry the momentum of Taft’s scoring streak into what promises to be a competitive road matchup.
