COPPERAS COVE, TX – The Bonham Middle School Bulldog 7th Grade soccer team proved they are a force to be reckoned with on the road, securing a gritty 4-2 victory over the SC Lee Junior High Cougars this past Thursday.
Despite the hostile environment in Copperas Cove, the Bulldogs found their rhythm early and maintained a relentless offensive pressure that the Cougars struggled to contain.
Offensive Fireworks
The Bulldogs’ attack was spearheaded by a standout performance from Rony Ixcopal-Flores, who found the back of the net twice. Ixcopal-Flores showed great chemistry with teammate Macgyver Jones, who provided a pinpoint assist on one of Rony's two goals.
The scoring didn’t stop there. The Bulldogs showcased their depth and awareness on the pitch with two additional contributions:
Marcos Flores played the role of the ultimate opportunist, slotting home a "clean-up" goal to keep the momentum firmly in Bonham's favor.
Audreas Lane added to the tally with a clinical finish, fueled by a well-timed assist from Malik Lawrence.
While the Cougars managed to strike twice, the Bonham defense held firm in the closing minutes to ensure the 4-2 lead stayed intact until the final whistle.
Looking Ahead: Back to the Bulldog Den
With this road win under their belts, the Bulldogs return home with a surge of confidence. They won't have much time to rest, however, as they prepare for a rematch against the Cove area’s finest.
