The Bonham Bulldog 8th Grade Track & Field team showcased their speed and strength this past Friday, clinching a solid 3rd Place finish at the Troy Trojan Invitational. Competing against a deep field at Troy High School, the Bulldogs amassed 106 points to secure their spot on the podium.
While Salado took the top spot with 190 points and Cameron edged out second with 112, the Bulldogs proved they are a force to be reckoned with, particularly in the sprints and jumping events.
Standout Performers
The story of the day was Daniel Jones, who dominated the competition. Jones secured two gold medals, taking 1st Place in the 100 meters with a blistering time of 11.88 and soaring to a 1st Place finish in the Long Jump with a distance of 19’9. He also added a silver to his tally in the High Jump (5’4).
Max Westbrook was another multi-event star for Bonham. Westbrook showcased his versatility by taking 2nd Place in both the 300 hurdles (46.82) and the Triple Jump (26’6 ½).
In the pits and rings, Jevniell Rosa-Rivera was a scoring machine. He earned 2nd Place in the Discus (111’9 ½) and 3rd Place in the Shot Put (38’4), proving the Bulldogs have power to match their pace.
