TROY, TX — The Bonham Bulldog 7th grade track and field team kicked off the 2026 season with a statement performance on Friday, securing a 2nd Place finish at the Troy Trojan Invitational.

In a competitive field, the Bulldogs racked up 102 points to earn the runner-up trophy. While Salado took the top spot with 208 points, Bonham managed to hold off Cameron, who finished 3rd with 85 points. It was a day defined by explosive sprints and dominant hurdle performances that kept the Bulldogs at the front of the pack.

Gold Medal Highlights

The Bulldogs found the top of the podium in four different events, led by a standout day from Audreas Lane and Kaden Prempeh.

Audreas Lane was a force to be reckoned with, sweeping the hurdles. He took 1st Place in both the 110m hurdles (21.31) and the 300m hurdles (48.84).

Kaden Prempeh showcased his speed and endurance by capturing 1st Place in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.30.

The 4x100 Relay team—consisting of Audreas Lane, Kaden Prempeh, Parker Huffman, and Rony Ixcopal—proved to be the fastest of the meet, taking 1st Place with a blazing 50.88.

Other Medal Standouts

Bonham’s depth was on full display as several other athletes brought home hardware:

Alexander Milne earned a silver medal in the Discus, throwing for 78’1 to take 2nd Place.
The 4x400 Relay squad (Alejandro Rodriguez, Dawson McCauley, Kaden Prempeh, Parker Huffman) also secured 2nd Place with a time of 4:23.08.

Parker Huffman leaped to a 3rd Place finish in the High Jump (4’6).
The 4x200 Relay team (Dawson McCauley, Malik Lawrence, Marcos Flores, Rony Ixcopal) took home 3rd Place (1:51.36).
