TROY, TX — The Bonham Middle School Lady Bulldogs 7th grade track and field team officially kicked off their season Friday evening, battling a competitive field at the Troy Trojan Relays.

Bonham secured a 6th place finish in the overall team standings, tallying 37 points. While the Salado Eagles took the top spot with 202 points and Cameron followed in second with 124, the Lady Bulldogs flashed serious potential in the sprint and relay events.

Standout Performances

The highlight of the night belonged to Luzia Mayunga, who dominated the 100-meter dash. Mayunga sprinted to a 1st place finish with a blistering time of 14.52. She wasn't done there, contributing heavily to the team's scoring throughout the evening.

The Lady Bulldogs also proved to be a force in the 200-meter dash, claiming two of the top four spots. Aaliyah Parks took home the silver with a 2nd place finish (29.33), while teammate Sadie Basinger followed closely in 4th place (29.73).

In the relay events, the quartet of Aaliyah Parks, Luzia Mayunga, Sadie Basinger, and Sophia Anguiano showcased excellent chemistry in the 4x400 Relay. The team clocked in at 4:49.08 to earn a hard-fought 3rd place podium finish.
