TEMPLE, TX – The Bonham Bulldog 7th grade B basketball team put on a clinic on Wednesday night, traveling to North Belton Middle School and returning home with a convincing 31-19 victory.
The Bulldogs leaned on a stifling defense and a breakout individual performance to control the tempo from the opening tip. The win moves Bonham into the final stretch of the season with significant momentum.
Moore Leads the Charge
The story of the night was La'Jaevian Moore, who put on a scoring masterclass. Moore accounted for nearly two-thirds of the Bulldogs' total points, finishing the evening with a game-high 20 points. Whether driving to the hoop or finding space in the paint, North Belton had no answer for his offensive output.
Supporting Moore’s massive night were teammates Mason Guajardo, who chipped in a solid 7 points, and Kaden Prempeh, who added 4 points to round out the scoring.
Defensive Lockdown
While the offense clicked, it was the Bulldogs' defensive effort that truly sealed the deal. Holding a middle school opponent to under 20 points is no small feat, and Bonham’s ability to disrupt North Belton's passing lanes and contest shots kept the lead comfortable throughout the second half.
Looking Ahead: The Season Finale
The Bulldogs don't have much time to celebrate as they prepare for their final regular-season test. Bonham will return home to host the Travis Science Academy on Monday, January 26.
This "Season Finale" is expected to be a high-energy matchup as the Bulldogs look to close out the year on a high note in front of their home crowd.
