The Bonham Bulldog 7th Grade B basketball team protected their home court in style this past Thursday, delivering a focused and energetic performance to defeat Copperas Cove with a final score of 40–23.
From the opening tip-off, the Bulldogs set the tone with aggressive defense and unselfish ball movement. The victory was a true ensemble effort, with eight different players finding their way into the scoring column.
Offensive Leaders
Michael Phillips led the charge for Bonham, slicing through the defense to rack up a team-high 11 points. He was joined in double figures by Mason Gaujardo, who dominated his matchups to contribute 10 points in the winning effort.
The Bulldogs' scoring was well-distributed throughout the roster:
Kaden Prempeh: 6 points
Edwardo Esquerda: 4 points
Karsin Staggers: 3 points
Sean Prater: 2 points
Jaiden Taylor: 2 points
Alex Milne: 2 points
Defensive Stand
While the offense clicked, it was the Bulldogs' defensive pressure that truly stifled Copperas Cove. By limiting second-chance points and forcing turnovers, Bonham kept the lead comfortable for the duration of the second half, never allowing the visitors to find a rhythm.
