BELTON, TX – The Bonham Bulldog 7th Grade A basketball team showed plenty of heart on Thursday evening, traveling to Belton Middle School and returning home with a hard-fought 36-32 victory.

In a game defined by defensive pressure and clutch shooting, the Bulldogs managed to hold off a late surge from Belton to secure the win. The atmosphere was electric, but Bonham's composure in the final minutes proved to be the difference maker.

Balanced Attack Leads the Way

Bonham’s offense was fueled by a team-first mentality, with seven different players finding the bottom of the net. Audreas Lane led the charge for the Bulldogs, attacking the paint and finishing with a team-high 12 points.

The scoring breakdown showcased the Bulldogs' depth:

Audreas Lane: 12 points
Bryce Robinson: 6 points
Jaysin Rainey: 4 points
Leonard Abilez: 4 points
Parker Huffman: 3 points
Derek Shamlin: 3 points
Kevin Brown: 2 points

Beyond the scoring, the Bulldogs' defensive rotations and rebounding in the second half limited Belton's second-chance opportunities, allowing Bonham to maintain their slim lead until the final buzzer.

Looking Ahead

The Bulldogs will look to carry this momentum back to their home court next week. Bonham is set to host Copperas Cove Junior High on Thursday, January 15th.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Come out and support these young athletes as they look to keep their winning streak alive!

Final Score: Bonham 36, Belton 32
Player of the Game: Audreas Lane (12 pts)
